This was my first day of work experience at ECMWF in reading. The company hired a filmmaker to create a short corporate video that focussed on the importance of collaboration within the company. My role was to shadow and assist the filmmaker during the shoot. We conducted a series of interviews with scientists at the company. During each set up we would take between 20-30 mins to set up the location and camera and construct the composition of the shot. This would involve introducing objects such as a plant to add colour into the shot. Another example of something we added to the shot was a globe to symbolise the discussion on global collaboration. Another clip we filmed was of a big speech with the director of the company. The majority of the experience was about setting up and getting an understanding of interview techniques such as setting up a shot and testing. We then discussed about the next stage of work experience which would be in Italy.
